1. What do you do?
I am a young progressive designer who’s recently graduated university. I am especially interested in and passionate about experimental typography and editorial design. I can’t wait to learn new skills and kickstart my career at Zap!
2. What’s your career highlight so far?
Prior to joining, I had the pleasure to intern for award winning design studio ‘Our Friends’ in London, however my current highlight is definitely joining Zap!
3. Which brand excites you the most at the moment? (Doesn’t have to be one of ours!)
‘The East London Liquor Company’ recently had a rebrand by London studio ‘Ragged Edge’. I discovered this brand when working in London and fell in love with their brutally stripped back approach. Another example is ‘So Young Magazine’, they are a magazine who specialise in alternative music. They often commission many designers and illustrators to create spreads.
4. Who’s your favourite graphic artist?
At the moment, I love the work of Piper Ferrari (@piperferrari_), she is an american artist who specialises in grunge design for musical artists. A different example would be Joe Boyd (thisisjoeboyd), he experiments with type and analog media using his scanner.
5. What attracted you to Zap?
What attracted me to Zap was the range and quality of work, the enthusiasm James showed to get me on board was also really nice to see.
6. Last film you watched?
Knives Out Glass Onion – It wasn’t great, the first one was a lot better. Daniel Craig’s American accent is proper weird.
7. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Most recently, I’ve become kind of obsessed with the London Underground. I’ve always liked trains a little since I was a kid, but while I lived in London, I became really interested in the history and everything about the underground.
8. Most embarrassing moment?
I’ve had many, but one that sticks in my mind has to be throwing up in the middle of the dancing floor in a club in Cyprus. I should’ve known that mixing my own drinks the whole night was a bad idea…
9. If you could choose any superpower…
Perhaps boring but teleporting can’t be bad, when I really can’t be arsed to get up from anywhere, it could really come in handy.
10. What are you looking forward to most this year?
I am really excited to further my career here at Zap, finally learning to drive and going to all the gigs I have booked.
