We’re on the lookout for an Art Director

We’re hunting a rare and magnificent creative individual who not only possesses a dazzling portfolio of stellar design and conceptual wizardry, but also a people person who knows how to get the best out of designers and help them flourish.

This is an office based role working from our studio in Hythe, Southampton, with temporary remote working for a month or two at most (Boris permitting). Applicants must live an easily commutable distance from the office.

About the role

Working with our close-knit team of designers and support staff, you will ensure that every piece of work you touch is dripping with brand integrity and creative excellence, and has absolutely positively nailed the brief. Whether it’s guiding colleagues or working under your own steam, you make sure nothing leaves the studio until it’s on-point. You’ll be a key member of the team and will work closely with our designers and creative director.  

About you

– You have the vision to see how to improve every piece of work you look at, both from a messaging / functionality perspective and aesthetically.

– You’re a team player, and know how to maintain a zen like balance in the creative team whilst getting the best out of everyone.

– You’re confident in your ability, happy to take the lead, and comfortable rationalising your decision making.

– You’re articulate, able to communicate your visions and don’t mind waxing lyrical about your craft.

– You’re comfortable in front of clients, and relish the opportunity to talk about your work.

– You’re ice cool under pressure, pragmatic and able to prioritise creative and business objectives.

– You’re experienced working in brand development and digital design. Any experience in packaging and product development would be a huge bonus.

– You’re emotionally intelligent, compassionate, able to read between the lines with clients and designers, and always put people first.

– You’re inspirational, have your finger on the pulse with design trends and a thirst for seeking out new techniques and styles. You’re great at picking out inspiring examples of creative to help explain your thinking and get the creative juices flowing.

– You don’t mind getting your hands dirty with design work and are right at home with Adobe Creative Suite. Mac skills are essential, from digital scamps right through to designed client decks.

– Your portfolio is stunning.
